A Powerful Start to the New Year: Highlights from Our January 11 ACT Gathering

Our January 11th gathering was a beautiful way to begin the year—rooted in connection, creativity, and heartfelt intention. Members and guests came together for an afternoon that reminded us why ACT continues to be a welcoming, heart-centered community after 25 years.

We opened the event grounded in presence and gratitude, honoring the collective spirit that makes ACT so special. With appreciation for our volunteers, collaborative leadership, and shared vision, the room was infused with a sense of belonging and possibility—setting the tone for a meaningful year ahead.

Our featured speaker, Laura DeFranco, founder of Brave Healer Productions, led us through a deeply engaging and inspiring experience centered on storytelling, self-awareness, and transformation. Through poetry, personal reflection, and guided writing, Laura invited participants to explore what she calls “brave spaces”—those moments where we pause, listen inward, and choose to live more authentically.

It was a powerful program of self-discovery, self-awareness, and moving forward into the new year with purpose and intention. It felt really great.

Our music for the day was offered by Teporah and blended beautifully with the theme of the day. Temporah and Laura also coordinated music for our writing time.

And there was a surprise gifting by ACT Member, Gary Niki who handed to each of us a red Fire Horse envelop for the new year which begins on February 17. Thank  you, Gary!
